Honouring Tiffany Pearson: Introducing the Tiffany Pearson Award at the Moorview Care Show

For our 25th Anniversary Year, we are launching the first Moorview Care Show, a moment to reflect and learn about the way support is evolving and hear from the people who shape our vision for the future. At the Show, in memory of the remarkable Tiffany Pearson, whom we supported in Whitby until her untimely death last year, we will launch the Tiffany Pearson Award, a tribute to a truly inspiring individual whose life inspired everyone around her.

Tiffany lived with courage, determination, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Paralysed for 15 years following a spinal injury, she never let her condition stop her from making a positive impact. Tiffany went above and beyond for good causes, supporting her local community in countless ways. She was particularly well known for her fundraising efforts with Whitby Town FC, including running football card competitions in support of the club’s Pitch Perfect fundraiser.

In 2023, Tiffany shared her journey in her book, Bossing Life With An SCI: Triumphs And Tribulations Through A Decade Of Paralysis, inspiring others to live life to the full, despite significant challenges. She is remembered by her family, friends, and the wider community as someone who always gave more than expected, bringing comfort, joy, and encouragement to those around her. Sadly, Tiffany passed away on May 6th last year, aged just 32, surrounded by her family and those who supported her at Moorview Care.

The Tiffany Pearson Award will be presented at this year’s Moorview Care Show to recognise a person we support who embodies Tiffany’s extraordinary qualities of compassion, determination, dedication, and a spirit of being undeterred by the barriers she faced.

Through this award, we hope to honour Tiffany’s legacy. Her story reminds us all that one person’s kindness and determination can leave a lasting mark on the world.
