We’re Finalists! Moorview Care Celebrates National Recognition at the 2025 Learning Disability & Autism Awards

Updated: 12 minutes ago

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Moorview Care has been named as a finalist in four categories at the prestigious 2025 Learning Disability & Autism Awards! These national awards celebrate excellence across the sector, and we’re proud to see the passion, innovation and dedication of our people recognised on such a big stage.

🌟 Sporting Chance Award – Moorview Miles

Our annual Moorview Miles challenge has grown year on year, and 2025 marked our biggest effort yet — celebrating our 25th anniversary with a target to collectively complete 2,500 miles in March. We didn’t just reach our goal — we smashed it, clocking in at 2,720 miles and raising £480 for our Charity of the Year, Stay Up Late. From walking and running to dancing and sea swimming, this inclusive, feel-good campaign brought our whole community together for movement, wellbeing, and a great cause.

🌟 Employer Award – Moorview Care

Being shortlisted for the Employer Award is a huge moment for us. We are a values-driven organisation that puts people first — always. From our A-Rated Sponsorship Licence for overseas team members, to Team Voice, Champion Schemes, and bespoke leadership programmes, we are building a culture of inclusion, co-production and continual growth. This recognition reflects the work we’ve done to innovate, listen, and grow — together.

🌟 The People’s Award – Moorview Matters

Moorview Matters is our powerhouse of co-production and lived experience. This group of experts-by-experience has been shaking things up, leading projects like our video support plans, taking part in recruitment panels, and partnering with external organisations like the police and University College London to share their insight. Their work puts the voices of the people we support front and centre — exactly where they should be.

🌟 Support Worker Award – Shegs (Whitby)

We nominated several of our exceptional team members for this award — but we’re delighted to share that Shegs has been selected as a national finalist.

A calm and consistent presence, Shegs is known for his compassion, integrity, and ability to build genuine relationships. He has supported people to feel safe, respected, and understood — including protecting someone’s dignity and financial wellbeing in a challenging public situation. His respectful, thoughtful approach and natural advocacy embody the very best of what Social Care can be. As one of his Team Leaders put it: “He supports from the heart, and speaks up when something doesn’t feel right. Everyone needs someone like Shegs in their life.”

These nominations shine a light on the incredible work happening every day across Moorview Care. They are a testament to the belief that everyone deserves a life filled with dignity, opportunity, and joy — and that’s exactly what we strive to deliver.

💚 Wish us luck – and stay tuned for more updates!
