Updated: Jul 23

re thrilled to share some incredible news from both the national stage and our own backyard: Moorview Care has made a big splash in the world of recognition and celebration!

🌟 National Spotlight: A Win at the National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards 2025

We are absolutely over the moon to announce that Oluwasegun Olukotun, know as ‘Shegs’, from Moorview Care’s Whitby Team, has been named the winner of the prestigious Support Worker Award at the National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards 2025.

Oluwasegun consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to his role and the people he supports. With natural confidence and a clear professional drive, he prioritises their needs every step of the way. His passion for learning and growth is an inspiration to us all — and it shone through at every stage of the judging process.

On the night, Oluwasegun said:

“I feel acknowledged. I feel rewarded… It's been an amazing journey.”

He went on to thank his team, his family, and his colleagues from across Moorview Care, dedicating his win to everyone who has supported him.

💚 Moovrview Care Awards 2025 – Celebrating Our Family

Back at home, our Moorview Care Awards 2025 were a true celebration of our values, our culture, and above all, our people.

Whether you joined us at a Thank You BBQ or cast a vote for your team or the people we support, this year’s awards were packed with heart, laughter, and a whole lot of Moorview Care magic.

From our ‘Moorview Machines’ behind the scenes to the newest team members' ‘Moorview in the Making’, these awards recognise the not only our commitment to teamwork, but those who have gone the extra mile and are leading by example. Winners and finalists now take their place in the Moorview Care Awards Hall of Fame, where their achievements will be remembered for years to come.

🏆 Categories & Winners

We recognised the Mavericks, the Motivators to the Multitaskers, and in each locality a ‘Moorview Marvel’ was recognised for going above and beyond. We announced the finalists from across all our localities: Scarborough, Bridlington, Hull, and Whitby — each one a reminder of the talent and commitment that exists in every corner of Moorview Care.

A few highlights:

  • Akintunde Olaniyi, Jacob-John Momoh, Kimberly Moir, and Vincent Akomaning-Damoah shone as Moorview in the Making winners. Our most promising new starters, as voted by their teams.

  • Caitlin, Bradley, George, Jackie, Julie, Zoe, Leanne, Billy, Daniel, Rafe and Dolly were recognised with Certificates of Achievement for the people we support in Whitby and Scarborough. Sarah, John, Richard, Terry, Bethany, Robert, Lewis, Ben, Trevor, Danielle and James were recognised with Certificates of Achievement for the people we support in Bridlington and Hull.

  • And our biggest congratulations go to this year’s Moorview Marvels – Julia O’Dowd, Lorna Johnson, Leah Haldenby, and Maria Clough – for their truly outstanding contributions.

Each winner receives a £20 Love to Shop voucher, and in the Marvel category, finalists also receive £20, with the winners taking home a well-earned £250. 💸💚

And to everyone who was nominated – your name was put forward by a person you work shoulder to shoulder with, who sees and appreciates everything you do. That in itself is something to be proud of.

A Final Thank You 💚

From the heartfelt nominations to those who cheered along at our 2025 Thank You BBQs and Awards, thank you to everyone for your support in recognising our finalists and winners.

Thank you to everyone who helped organise, nominate, vote, film, edit, cook, or simply turned up and smiled — and thank you for making Moorview Care what it is: a place full of people who care, who strive, and who lift each other up.

Here’s to another year of making a difference, together.
