At Moorview Care, we know that strong relationships with families are essential to providing the best support. That’s why we’ve launched the Family Working Group, a space where families and our team come together to share feedback, shape improvements, and strengthen communication. Led by Sam Robinson (Head of Operations), the group is focused on forward planning, ensuring that parents and guardians feel engaged, heard, and informed about their loved one’s care.
The group has already begun vital discussions around key areas such as communication, training, team consistency, and advocacy. Families have shared their desire for more regular updates, improved access to reports, and a clearer induction process for new team members. There is also a strong focus on long-term planning, ensuring that every person we support continues to thrive—not just today, but well into the future. By working together with openness and curiosity, we are building an even stronger, more connected support network for families.
But the most powerful voices in this journey belong to the families themselves. In our latest video, parents and guardians share their experiences of what Moorview Care has meant for them and their loved ones.
A Life-Changing Impact
For Allan and Helen, Moorview Care provided more than just support for their son Rob—it was a lifeline.
"The lady that accepted our son saved our lives."
Rob has his challenges, but he is happy and content. Allan and Helen expressed their deep gratitude for not only the care their son receives but also the support they, as parents, have felt along the way.
A Journey to Stability
Maureen and Ken's son, James, faced difficulties from a young age. School was a challenge, and when he transitioned to college, his struggles deepened.
"He was just starting college, but it became clear he couldn’t cope. Then, he started hearing voices, and his health declined."
It took years to find the right place for James, but Moorview Care provided the stability and reassurance his family needed. Today, Maureen and Ken describe him as more settled than ever before, giving them peace of mind about his future.
Trusting in Quality Care
For many families, placing a loved one in care is an emotional and difficult decision. Head of Operations Sam Robinson summed up what all families hope for:
"You want that care to be excellent, high-quality. You need to trust that your child is getting the support they need and living their best possible life."
This trust is what Moorview Care works tirelessly to build—through consistent support, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to doing what we say we will do.
More Than Just a Care Provider
For many families, Moorview Care has become an extension of their own family. As Allan and Helen put it:
"There is a superb rapport between the team and Rob. They are his family now."
The reassurance that their loved one is happy, safe, and supported allows families to shift from being full-time carers to being family again.
Long-Term Support and Reassurance
Many families, like Maureen and Ken, describe the relief of knowing that their loved one’s future is secure.
"I dread to think what life would be like if it wasn’t for Moorview Care. We don’t know what we would have done."
For them, and for many others, Moorview Care isn’t just about today—it’s about ensuring a stable and fulfilling future for the people we support.
