“I Feel Like the Richest Person on Earth” – How Sponsorship at Moorview Care is Changing Lives

At Moorview Care, we believe that everyone deserves to feel secure, included, and valued. That belief sits at the heart of our Sponsorship Programme.
Recently, Team Leader Natasha shared the powerful reflections of team member and Sponsorship recipient, Aquila, during his latest supervision:
“I feel really proud of how far the company has come; it's a very inclusive environment. I am so happy to be a part of Moorview Care. Thank you all, for everything.”
Aquila's journey has been shaped by resilience, patience, and the support of the people around him. When his Certificate of Sponsorship was confirmed, he told Natasha he felt like “the richest person on earth.” The relief, joy, and pride in that moment were so overwhelming, he called his mum and shared this personal and heartfelt message:
“I’ve been so high up in the clouds and I couldn't come down until now… I read this and I was so moved, I had to call my mum just to hear her voice and thank her. They both send their love 🙏❤️”
These are the human stories of people who’ve crossed oceans and overcome uncertainty – not only to work, but to thrive, to feel seen, and to build meaningful futures. Aquila’s story is a reminder that what we do here matters.
It’s not just Aquila who’s been uplifted. This process has sent positive ripples across our organisation. Natasha shared that the morale boost has been “the biggest you could ever imagine.” Other team members, like Uchenna, have also felt heard and valued – his own Sponsorship was brought forward after a recent conversation, making him feel listened to and appreciated.
Vikki Knibbs, Head of HR for Moorview Care, shared:
“It’s Aquila that I will always remember telling he’d been successful. He was incredibly grateful, and you could hear his emotion in his voice. He just wanted to call Natasha and tell her and then Natasha called me in floods of tears!”
While we celebrate these success stories, it’s important to acknowledge the complex work behind the scenes to make them happen. Our HR Team continues to manage the careful balance of compliance and care with great diligence. Vikki added:
“We’ve had more Certificates of Sponsorship requested recently. While there are currently no new Certificates available, our focus right now is on fulfilling the extensive criteria and requirements to maintain our existing licence – something we take incredibly seriously.”
A recent BBC investigation revealed that over 470 care providers across England had their sponsorship licences revoked between July 2022 and December 2024, due to concerns around abuse and exploitation of overseas workers. This action, while necessary, left thousands of workers unemployed – many of whom had made immense personal and financial sacrifices to come to the UK.
This context highlights why ethical, transparent, and supportive employment practices are essential. At Moorview Care, we are proud to be different. We would never make our team feel that they don’t have a voice or let them down by being non-compliant.
