At Moorview Care, we’re passionate about inclusion, empowerment, and lifelong learning. That’s exactly why our Moorview Mentors programme exists — to give the people we support the opportunity to lead, shape, and strengthen the way we all learn and grow.
This month, the Mentors turned their attention to something that affects all of us: staying safe online.
Armed with handmade posters and a clear message, they took part in a creative awareness campaign, sharing key tips for keeping yourself safe on the internet. Each sign they held carried a powerful reminder, written in their own words:
🟣 “Be careful what you post online” – Once it’s out there, it can be hard to take back. Think twice before you post.
🔴 “Don’t meet people you don’t know” – Online strangers aren’t always who they say they are. Stay safe and tell someone you trust.
🟠 “Don’t choose an easy password” – A strong password protects your private information. Make it tricky to guess!
🔵 “Don’t accept friend requests from strangers” – If you don’t know them in real life, it’s best to decline.
📵 “Don’t give out your number to strangers” – Keep your contact details private and secure.
🚫 “You can block people” – If someone makes you uncomfortable, block them. It’s your right.
🏦 “Never give bank details out” – Your financial information is private. Always keep it safe.
This was more than a photo project — it was a confident display of peer-led learning, driven by the voices of people with lived experience. As part of the Moorview Mentors initiative, this campaign shows just how powerful co-production can be when people are given the space and support to lead.
A huge well done to everyone involved — for the creativity, the confidence, and for helping us all remember how to stay safe online 💚
